Holding Space for the Transformative Seasons of Life

Doula, Photographer, and Advocate for
Women & Families in South Florida.

β€œWanted to share a wonderful experience I had this past week! A magical moment I will treasure for years to come πŸ₯Ή I just barely 3 months postpartum with twins, decided to step out of my comfort zone & celebrate 3 months being blessed to breastfeed my boys with a milk bath session with the wonderful Martha! It was such a pleasure! In such a vulnerable time when you may not feel entirely like yourself, or when the world can be so loud with β€œbounce back” culture …. She made me see myself as strong, powerful, resilient! & also soft, beautiful & my children’s safest place!!!!

If you’re ever looking for a doula, birth photographer, or like me a special breastfeeding session she is amazing! It was comfortable; she brought some beautiful energy to my home & in seeing these reminded me how truly remarkable women are ✨✨✨ ANYWAYS, TAKE ALL THE PICTURES, I promise you will treasure them one day. Forever thankful to people like Martha who use their beautiful work to remind us how cool moms are!

5 stars is not enough, you cannot go wrong with Martha

Grounded Support.
Intuitive Artistry.

Welcome! I’m Marthaβ€”a mother, doula, educator, and artist.

Being invited into someone’s birth space is something very sacred to me, and I don’t take it lightly. Each time I walk into a birth space, I feel honored that I get to be able to be a part of this incredible transition and to document all the moments, big and small. Because I strongly believe that our entire birth experience shapes who we subsequently become, and impacts our children and their future. So I don’t take you choosing me lightly, and want to make sure you have the support and memories documented to help you start the next phase of your journey.

My experience as an educator for Broward County Public Schools, a Doula, a Midwife’s Assistant and Birth Photographer all allow me to bring a grounded sense of peace to your birthing space. And the artist/performer in me allows me to bring comfort, joy, and a little bit of whimsy to each session we co-create in.

I’m a rare born and raised Floridian, still living in Broward County, and come from a long line of midwives in Cuba. I graduated with a BFA in Theatre performance and a minor in Psychology. I’m also a musician, folkloric drummer and dancer, and have performed extensively in South Florida over the last few decades. I have studied and performed ALLLLL styles of theatre, dance & drumming, and there is always a soundtrack running in my head during every moment of every happening.

And although growing up I was always the self-appointed family historian and always had a camera nearby, it was becoming a mother that led me to getting serious about my craft as a photographer, and I went full throttle learning everything I could, slowly stepping into my role as a photo-journalist of life. But I take it one step further, and use photography as a tool to help heal the parts of you that might be a little raw, and use my intuition and my highly sensitive nature to understand where you are coming from, and help take you on the next step to get you where you want to go.

Love,

Martha
